I recently wrote a book called 'Hybrid Hearts: God's Call to Come Home.'
It clears up some misunderstandings in Christianity by restoring the larger context of God's plan and epic. You see, I've been asking myself a few questions that are as uncomfortable as blackberry thorns in the butt of Christianity, such as...
•What is godlikeness, anyway? What is the true promise of the serpent, and does it still have an evident effect today?
•Why did Jesus have to die? I mean, really, without pious platitudes. Does his death make any sense that actually justifies it?
•Does grace mean 'I'll do it as a favor, but you don't deserve it'? That's how we often understand it. But is that really the case? (Spoiler alert: Nope, just... nope.)
•Are Christians allowed to lie, cheat, and behave in a completely disrespectful, intrusive, and inappropriate manner?
(Never more relevant than today, right?...)
Why am I writing this? What motivated me to write this book and why do I believe that the message is valuable, even groundbreaking and reconciling? Because God is calling us back to the essentials at a time when things are going haywire. Because the message of the Bible from A to Z, Alpha to Omega becomes completely congruent and clear when you just leave out all the hullu around it.
